The Girls Aloud star suggested that the BBC One competition was boring, saying that it's 'only about a Glitterball'.
Speaking ahead of tonight's ratings clash between X Factor and Strictly, Cheryl reckons viewers should tune in to ITV.
“Even if I wasn’t part of X Factor, I’d watch it," she's quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror newspaper. "Strictly is only about celebs dancing and, at the end of it, all someone gets is to walk off with a glitterball.
“But on X Factor you are changing people’s lives.”
Of course us reality telly fans may be a bit puzzled by Cheryl's comments, given that she seemingly loved the show when pal Kimberley Walsh took part and even performed on the results programme.
“It’s funny now she’s back on X Factor she’s slagging Strictly off. When Kim was on she loved it," an insider said. "It’s not the most intelligent thing to say.”
In fact, Cheryl loved Strictly so much it was her who pushed bandmate Kimberley to take part.
"Cheryl pushed me over the edge," Kimberley said back in 2012. "Her and Nicola. They were adamant that I should do it. I was teetering on the edge and they both pushed me into Strictly."
We're also rather dubious of Cheryl's claims that she watches the show even if she's not a part of it.
Last night saw Paul Akister return to try again after controversially missing out last year and Cheryl didn't seem to recognise him at all.
