Strictly Come Dancing is being tipped to triumph over The X Factor in tonight's head to head ratings battle.

The two shows will face off directly against one another for the first time this year, both airing this evening from 8PM.

And bookmkaers Coral reckon the BBC will easily win the ratings war, offering 1-7 that the glitzy dance competition beats Simon Cowell’s production.

It’s 3-1 that X Factor beats Strictly’s ratings on any given Saturday this season.

“The X Factor was once the king of Saturday night TV but the tables have turned in recent years, and punters reckon that the glitz and glam of Strictly Come Dancing will draw more viewers”, said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.

The Beeb and ITV have blamed each other over the clash, which will see the pre-recorded Strictly launch show face the final round of X Factor room auditions.

A spokesperson for the BBC said: “We had to go against X Factor or Corrie.”

But ITV claimed: “It’s a clash of their creation.”

The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing both air tonight at 8PM on ITV and BBC One respectively
