TOWIE star James Arg Argent has been linked to the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
BBC bosses apparently hope that the Essex funnyman could be their secret weapon in the ratings war against X Factor.
Who knew Arg and Cheryl Cole would some day be going head to head?
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper today, James said he was up for the challenge.
“I want to do Strictly this year and I’m definitely in their thoughts," he claimed. “I can dance. I have got rhythm.
"I would shock people with my moves.
"I have always dreamed of being in the West End and so this show suits me down to the ground.”
According to the tabloid Arg would continue to appear on TOWIE, which has a further two series to air this year including one in the autumn, alongside Strictly.
But if Strictly turns out a dud, Arg is already lining up a backup option.
“I could do the jungle," he said. "I’ve had good practice.
"I once ate some dodgy jellied eels.”
Other names already linked to the new series of Strictly include former Corrie star Michelle Keegan, TOWIE's Mark Wright and X Factor winner Joe McElderry.
There have also been rumours that Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean could take part after Dancing On Ice's final series concluded earlier this month.
