ITV bosses are reportedly planning to pinch Susanna Reid from the BBC after Strictly Come Dancing.
The current Breakfast newsreader is the favourite to win the series and has caught the attention of ITV producers.
The Daily Mirror newspaper report that Susanna is being linked to a presenting spot on Daybreak, in a deal that could be worth up to £500,000 a year.
“Getting Susanna would be an absolute dream however we know the likelihood of her switching over to us is slim," a source told the tabloid at the weekend. "We would definitely have talks with her if she was interested.”
Another ITV source added to the publication: “Susanna is being talked about at a senior level.
"She is the hottest property in TV land at the moment and her versatility makes her an attractive proposition for primetime.”
However, a BBC source revealed that plans were being made to promote Susanna to one of the channel's primetime news slots.
“Discussions are taking place. Options include the Six O’Clock News or the BBC News at Ten," they said.
Speaking about her future, Susanna insisted: “Long term plans are very much in the distance and I have no idea what is going to happen beyond Saturday.
“Seriously, I have no idea how my career will pan out after this.”
The grand final will be on Saturday 21st December at 6:30pm on BBC One and BBC One HD. The Strictly 2013 winner will be revealed in the second show of the evening next Saturday at 8:40pm.
