Strictly Come Dancing 2013: Sophie Ellis-Bextor won't dance to her own tracks

Strictly Come Dancing 2013 contestant Sophie Ellis-Bextor has said she won't perform to her own tracks.

There have unfortunately been countless puns about Sophie's hit song Murder On the Dancefloor, but we won't be hearing it on the series.

The popstar reckons it'd be weird to dance to one of her singles, and fears trying to do so could leave her hating her albums!

“I’m not sure I’m allowed to actually – but I think that would be a bit weird, dancing to me, anyway," Sophie admitted.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday this weekend, Sophie explained; “Listening to a song from Monday afternoon to Saturday night you go through such a wave of loving it – and then not being able to stand it.

“I don’t really want to do that with one of my own songs – otherwise every time I hear it I’ll be like, ‘Oh, that was the moment I had that lift I couldn’t do’.”

Sophie is one of the favourites to win the show in next week's final, if she can avoid elimination in this evening's latest dance off.

The Strictly Come Dancing 2013 results show airs at the earlier time of 7PM on BBC One tonight.
