Corrie's Natalie Gumede and model Abbey Clancy topped the scoreboard on tonight's Strictly Come Dancing 2013 results.
Natalie and Artem kicked things off with a Salsa to Michael Jackson’s ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Something’, scoring a perfect 40 from the panel with four tens from each of the judges.
Patrick and Anya followed with the Waltz to the Righteous Brothers ‘Unchained Melody’ but couldn't quite match up to Natalie's standards, scoring 36 points.
Next up, popstar Sophie and her pro partner Brendan danced the Paso Doble to ‘Montagues and Capulets’ by Prokofiev. Darcy and Craig were both critical, but high marks from both Len and Bruno saw the pair leave the dancefloor with 35 points.
Susanna and Kevin were in the spotlight next, performing the Foxtrot to Frankie Valli’s ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’ to score their personal best marks of the series so far with 38 points.
Abbey and Aljaz followed with the Samba to George Michael’s ‘Faith’ and went one point better with a tantalisingly near perfect 40 points.
Phone lines then opened and it was on to the second round of performances, starting with Natalie and Artem. The pair couldn't quite match their first round score, with 38 points after their Argentine Tango to ‘Montserrat’ by Bajofondo
Patrick and Anya also struggled with their second dance, the Paso Doble to ‘Because the Night’ by The Patti Smith Group, getting 33 marks in all.
Sophie and Brendan then performed the American Smooth to Lisa Stansfield’s ‘They Can’t Take That Away From Me’. The popstar scored her first ten of the series but a low mark of 8 from Craig saw a total of 36 points, failing to improve on her personal best first set way back in the second week.
Next, Susanna and Kevin were back out with the Salsa to ‘Move Your Feet’ by Junior Senior but had only 32 points, the lowest score of the night.
Finally, Abbey and Aljaz performed the American Smooth to Neil Diamond’s ‘Sweet Caroline’, the only pair to match their first round score of 38 points.
It all leaves Abbey and Natalie joint scoreboard leaders with 78 points each, while Patrick is bottom with 79 points.
The Strictly Come Dancing 2013 results show airs at the earlier time of 7PM on BBC One tomorrow night.
