According to The Sun, show bosses have agreed a deal worth £25,000 with the 34-year-old in the hope that she'll inject some 'glamour' in to the show.
Sophie achieved success in the early noughties with a string of top ten hits, including Spiller collaboration 'Groovejet' - which beat Spice Girl Victoria Beckham's solo debut to no.1 - 'Take Me Home' and 'Murder On The Dancefloor'.
She is expected to use her time on Strictly to help promote her fifth studio album, which is due out later this year.
A source said: "Sophie is a great signing. She’ll bring her showbiz connections with her as well as some glamour.
"She is already being touted as one to watch on the dancefloor."
The newspaper claims that Sophie is one of three names to be 'confirmed' for this year's Strictly so far, alongside WAG Abbey Clancy - wife of footballer Peter Crouch - and chef Dave Myers, one half of the Hairy Bikers.
However, the BBC has yet to officially announce who's taking part in the eleventh run, set to hit our screens in September.
