Strictly Come Dancing 2013 bosses want Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher for this year's series.
BBC producers have contacted the 48-year-old actress, who had originally been lined up to take part last year.
According to the Daily Star Sunday, TV chiefs are willing to pay "big bucks" to get the American star on the line up for the new series in the autumn.
“They have wanted Teri for a long time and have offered her huge sums of money to do it," a source told the newspaper today. “Teri loves to dance so she was very excited when she first received the offer.
“Unfortunately she’s been too busy in the past but she’s doing everything she can to make it work this time around.”
Meanwhile, producer's plans to get the first royal on the show in the form of Zara Phillips were dashed last month when the show jumper announced she was expecting her first baby at the end of the year.
But host Tess Daly wasn't too disappointed, and teased: “From what I hear it’s going to be a blinding series and we’ve got some really big names."
Strictly Come Dancing 2013 will air on BBC One from September.
