Great British Bake Off star Paul Hollywood has turned down an offer to compete in Strictly Come Dancing 2013.
The Celebrity chef was apparently on a wish list of stars put together by the Beeb for the new series of the show in the autumn.
“Strictly are desperate to get him on the show and the BBC think it will be a really good move," a source claimed last month. “Paul has been telling his friends how keen he is to get involved. He watches it all the time and wanted to go on it last year.
“He has had a lot on his mind and is throwing himself into different projects.”
Speaking to the Sunday People at the time, Paul confessed he would be up for a spot on this year's line up.
But he warned: “It’s all about ¬timing. When you become a product of a big programme, you get busier and it’s hard trying to fit everything in.
“I am just really enjoying myself.”
But now it seems as though Paul's busy schedule and personal life have ruled him out.
The Daily Mirror reports that he is keen to spend more time with his son, who he can only see on weekends following his divorce.
“Paul is putting his family first," a source told the tabloid. "He is determined to make time for his son, Strictly is not an option. Despite problems off screen, his career is on the rise.”
Strictly Come Dancing 2013 will air on BBC One in the Autumn.
