Great British Bake Off star Paul Hollywood has been tipped to compete in Strictly Come Dancing 2013.
The Celebrity chef is apparently on a wish list of stars put together by the Beeb for the new series of the show in the autumn.
“Strictly are desperate to get him on the show and the BBC think it will be a really good move," a source claimed this weekend. “Paul has been telling his friends how keen he is to get involved. He watches it all the time and wanted to go on it last year.
“He has had a lot on his mind and is throwing himself into different projects.”
The supposed insider continued: “It depends on schedules. He is busy filming Bake Off, which starts in August, and is keen to sign on the dotted line.
“The Beeb are constantly looking at ways to step up the war with ITV over prime time Saturday night viewing.
“They know what a hit he is with viewers and think he will go far in the competition.”
Speaking to the Sunday People, Paul confessed he wouldn't be against competing in the BBC One dance series.
But he warned: “It’s all about ¬timing. When you become a product of a big programme, you get busier and it’s hard trying to fit everything in.
“I am just really enjoying myself.”
Strictly Come Dancing 2013 will air on BBC One in the Autumn.
