JLS star JB has refused to wear sequins of Lycra for the Strictly Come Dancing 2012 Christmas special.
The X Factor star will be amongst a line up of celebs including comic Katy Brand and Blue Peter's Helen Skelton taking part in Christmas evening's one-off show.
But the boy band star has revealed he agreed with the show's producers not to ruin his "street cred".
He told DigitalSpy: "My street cred can't be touched, babes! Don't worry about that. But before we started, I told the producers, 'No sequins and no Lycra'.
Despite performing to millions on The X Factor live shows back in 2008, JB confessed he was expecting to be nervous when it came to dancing for the judges.
He admitted: "At the moment, I'm not nervous, but by the time it comes to the competition I'll probably be about a nine or ten."
But he reckons ballroom is not that different from the moves he and his JLS bandmates currently perform!
"It's pretty similar, to be fair," he told the website. "It's a different style of dance and performance that I'm used to, but in terms of performance and learning I've definitely wanted to make sure it's right.
"It's not totally unlike being with JLS because I'm not totally on my own. You still have to be in sync, like with the boys, but it's been difficult trying to learn to not step on my partner's toes."
He added: "Unfortunately the JLS boys can't come and watch, but they've all messaged me to say good luck."
