A huge audience of more than 10.7 million viewers tuned to last night's Strictly Come Dancing 2012 semi final results.

Kimberley Walsh, Louis Smith, Denise Van Outen and Dani Harmer made it through to the final at the weekend after Lisa Riley was eliminated in the latest Strictly Come Dancing results.

The Emmerdale actress lost the dance off to Denise Van Outen, who was in the bottom two for the second week in a row.

The 30 minute show from 7PM was watched by an impressive average audience of 10.7 million, one of the highest audiences for the Sunday night shows yet this series.

It was again the most watched show of the day, although the Sports Personality of the Year 2012 which followed secured a higher peak audience of 14.48m (57.5%) at 22:25 as the winner was announced.

The two Beeb shows crushed ITV for the second night in a row, with the channel now without its two flagship reality shows I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and The X Factor.

ITV1 could only muster a 3.3 million maximum audience all day in fact, so no doubt bosses will be counting down the days until Dancing On Ice returns....
