Strictly Come Dancing 2012 ratings: Semi Final seen by over 10 million

Strictly Come Dancing 2012 semi-final - Lisa and Robin

More than 10 million viewers tuned in to last night's Strictly Come Dancing 2012 semi final performances.

An average audience of 10.4 million watched between 6:30PM and 8PM, as the remaining five couples danced two routines each for the first time this series.

It was close to matching this series' peak ratings of 10.7 million earlier in the competition before the show moved to Wembley.

And it was easily above last weekend's X Factor climax, which bodes well for next week's Strictly final in the end of year ratings battle.

The show was the most watched show of the day, crushing competition on ITV1, with Take Me Out's celebrity special managing 4 million viewers.

And poor Girls Aloud struggled to attract viewers for their reunion, mustering a less than impressive audience of just 2.3 million from 9PM for their new documentary, Ten Years At the Top.
