Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Kimberley Walsh to win, says Nicky Byrne

Kimberley Walsh (Strictly Come Dancing)

Axed Strictly Come Dancing star Nicky Byrne has said he wants Kimberley Walsh to win the show.

Nicky became the latest star to leave the show in Sunday's Strictly Come Dancing 2012 results, losing in the dance off against Denise Van Outen.

Speaking after his exit today, Nicky backed fellow popstar Kimberley to win after her perfect score of 40 points at the weekend for her Cha Cha Tango mashup.

Although Nicky confessed that he felt Denise "deserved" it more.

He said: “Denise deserves to win. She’s the best dancer by a country mile.

"But I’d like to see Kimberley win because she’s improved all the way.”

The Westlife singer confessed that he knew he was leaving the show immediately after being in the dance off with Denise last night.

He told The Sun newspaper this morning: “Anyone else but Denise, you might have an inkling of a hope that you could have challenged... but unless Denise physically fell over then I knew it was game over. Even then they’d have judged it on what she’s already done.

“If it is a straight dance competition, then Denise should win. I couldn’t have asked for a better send-off because at least I was beaten by the best dancer.”
