Strictly Come Dancing 2012 results: Michael Vaughan 'happy' to leave

Michael Vaughan (Strictly Come Dancing)

Michael Vaughan has said he was happy to leave Strictly Come Dancing 2012.

After three times in the dance off, yesterday evening was finally Michael's time to say goodbye as he was eliminated in the latest Strictly Come Dancing 2012 results.

The cricket star was in the bottom two with Nicky Byrne, the Westlife star's second time in the danger zone.

“It started in September and to think I was still dancing in December," Michael said. “It has been quite extraordinary.

“I was quite happy to go out wearing a dodgy shirt and dancing to Tequila.

“It’s not a bad way to leave Strictly."

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Michael said he had no regrets, adding: “It’s been a great laugh and a real good experience for me to be taught something outside of my comfort zone.”

And he praised his pro partner Natalie Lowe, telling the tabloid: “I call her the wizard. How she got me to the ninth week is remarkable.”
