Victoria Pendleton has become the latest celeb eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing 2012 in tonight's results.
Last night Strictly waltzed back home to Television Centre. With the Strictly trophy in sight, Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly invited the eight remaining couples to take to the dance floor in a bid to impress the judges - Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli & Craig Revel Horwood - and the viewers at home
The judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes to decide the lowest scoring two couples. When all the votes were combined, Michael Vaughan & Natalie Lowe and Victoria Pendleton & Brendan Cole became the next two couples to face the dreaded dance-off.
After both couples had performed for a second time the judges delivered their verdicts:
Craig chose to save Michael saying: “Well this couple completely smashed and I thought they were fantastic – Michael and Natalie”
Darcey chose to save Michael saying: “Yes - I am going save Michael and Natalie.”
Bruno also chose to save Michael saying: “I am going to save the best performance – and that came from Michael and Natalie.”
With this unanimous vote, it meant that Victoria Pendleton became the seventh celebrity to leave the competition.
Victoria said “It’s been so much fun; I have loved every second of it. It pushed me totally out of my comfort zone which I think you really need to do in life. Brendan has been fantastic, the people behind the scenes here – the hair, make up, I love the costumes. It’s been a fantastic experience.”
And Brendan reflected “It’s been an emotional roller-coaster but I said from the start I was so excited to be paired with Victoria and I haven’t changed my mind - she has been a diamond to work with.
“What a girl – she is the pride of the nation and (turns to Victoria) I couldn’t be happier or prouder of you for the way you have attacked it.”
On Sunday’s Results show the Strictly professionals took to the floor with dance troupe Flawless, whilst Irish rockers The Script also performed.
Next week Strictly Come Dancing is on Saturday 1st December at 6.50pm with the results show on Sunday 2nd December at 7.20pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.
