Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Louis Smith: 'The competition is heating up'

Louis Smith (Strictly Come Dancing)

Strictly Come Dancing star Louis Smith reckons he could be in danger of the axe this weekend.

At one time topping the leaderboard, it's fair to say that Louis has struggled in recent weeks.

His quick-step inspired American Smooth split the judges this week and his score showed.

"It was scary, it was brilliant and a great experience, the atmosphere was a live in there, but it was nerve wrecking," Louis admitted after performing at Wembley. "I think it was as nervous there as I was at the Olympics."

This weekend will see Louis and pro partner Flavia Cacace dancing the Paso Doble to Dirty Diana by Michael Jackson, and there will be a cape!

"It's a very macho dance, it's a very dramatic dance. It's the most fun I've had all week with the cape," Louis said.

But Flavia has had her hands full, revealing: "It's been really difficult making him do the routine and not dance like Michael Jackson!"

Despite being the favourite to win, Louis insisted that anything could happen and he was just hoping to make the final.

He added: "I would love to get to the final, it's been a journey getting here but the competition is heating up."
