Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood will save The X Factor... for £5 million

Craig Revel Horwood (Strictly 2012)

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has claimed he'll help Simon Cowell fix The X Factor... for £5 million.

Strictly has leapfroagged The X Factor in the ratings this year, attracting up to two million more viewers on Saturday and Sunday nights.

And Craig reckons he knows the secrets of Saturday night success, and will happily share his tips with X Factor boss Simon.

The 47-year-old told BANG Showbiz this week: "I would hand out advice willingly. I could save his show for £5 million.”

He claimed:” I know what's wrong with it. I know what the solution is. It's only a phone call away, isn't it?"

But giving anyway some of his advice for free, Craig suggested that the ITV1 series needed to cut back on the 'scripted' comments.

He said: "The X Factor is, I suppose, a little bit transparent now and I think that is its biggest problem, its biggest issue. There aren't any surprises. You could write the script yourself and see it on television that evening.”
