Strictly Come Dancing's ratings once again beat The X Factor results show last night, following the ITV1's worst live performance rating in some nine years.

Saturday's show was watched by less than 8 million viewers, the lowest figures since the first series way back in 2004.

The results last night saw Kye Sones leave the competition, and were watched by an average audience of 8.8 million viewers.

While up on Saturday's low, it was down - albeit slightly - on last week's results ratings of 8.9 million viewers.

Including those watching on ITV1+1, The X Factor was seen by 9.2 million viewers between 8PM and 9PM, and peaked with 10.9 million as the result was announced.

On the other hand, Strictly surged to add 400,000 viewers to its results show, up to an average audience of 9.6 million viewers this weekend.

The show peaked with 10.4 million viewers as Colin Salmon was eliminated from the competition.

The X Factor continues with its live shows next weekend with a Best Of British theme.

Sunday's results show will feature performances from One Direction and Little Mix, as well as one more act being given the boot.

Meanwhile, this week Strictly Come Dancing is on Saturday 10th November at 6.30pm with the results show on Sunday 11th November at 7.25pm on BBC Oneand BBC One HD.
