Celebrities are lining up for Strictly Come Dancing's 2012 Christmas special, it's been revealed.
The boss of the BBC series claimed this weekend that plenty of stars were showing interest in the show this year around.
The one off special sees a group of celebrities train for a few weeks before a one-off performance, with the show's judges deciding who the winner is.
Strictly Come Dancing producer Glenn Coomber told the Press Association that this year's line up was looking strong than ever.
He said: "We are now preparing for the Christmas show and the celebrities we are lining up are fantastic. We have had a lot of interest and I could not be happier.
"Strictly is not seen in the same way as [cat]Dancing On Ice[/cat] or I'm A Celebrity. It's not a reality show. It's a magical thing where people work hard but they have such genuine fun. Strictly has to be fun as otherwise there is no point in doing it."
Meanwhile discussing this year's main show line up, the telly exec said that bosses didn't seek out 'novelty' acts.
"We did not go into this thinking who is the next Ann Widdecombe or Nancy Dell'Olio," he said. "We looked at who was relevant. When I met Lisa Riley for the first time, she was such a lovely, warm person.
"She told me 'I may be a fat person but I can do the splits'. I felt we had someone very special with her and the combination of Lisa and Robin (Windsor) is working like a dream."
Strictly continues with Strictly Come Dancing: The Results on Sunday 4th November at 7.20pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.
