Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Kimberley Walsh gets physio after knee injury

Kimberley Walsh (Strictly Come Dancing)

Strictly Come Dancing star Kimberley Walsh has been getting physio after an injury to her knee.

The BBC reports that the Girls Aloud singer is suffering from iliotibial band syndrome after a tough week in rehearsals.

The singer told Radio 1's Newsbeat that she has her "fingers crossed" that she will be able to perform this weekend.

Kimberley is planning to win over the judges on Saturday night with a saucy salsa, that will even see her take to the air!

The popstar is also hoping to channel her inner "Sasha Fierce" on Strictly Come Dancing 2012 this weekend.

Speaking at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards, where she presented Louis Smith with the Ultimate Hottie prize, Kimberley said she was looking forward to sexing up her performances with a dance to one of Beyonce's hits.

That's if she makes it to the dancefloor!

"I've got a bit of a bad knee which is causing me a bit of trouble," she said. "But I'm getting physio every day and I'm crossing everything that I'll be able to salsa this weekend."

Last weekend saw Kimberley score her top score of the series so far with 31 points to place her second on the leaderboard behind Louis Smith.

Tune in to this week’s show on Saturday 3rd November at 6.30pm for Strictly Come Dancing with Strictly Come Dancing: The Results on Sunday 4th November at 7.20pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.
