Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Sid Owen blames lack of training on exit

Sid Owen (Strictly Come Dancing)

Strictly Come Dancing 2012 star Sid Owen has blamed his exit on a lack of training.

Sid was eliminated from Strictly in last night's latest results show, having been put into the dance off with Colin Salmon.

Sid's Cha Cha Cha didn't win over the judges, with Bruno, Dacey and Craig all opting to save Colin.

It's been a tough week for Sid and his pro partner Ola, with Iveta helping Sid in training after Ola flew to Poland after her mum was taken ill.

"We really have had the week from hell," Sid said today. “Ola has been through it with her mum and we only had a few hours together to practice.

“Literally, we had two hours and that was it. Ola wasn’t happy with the routine because she hadn’t put it together, so she wasn’t feeling it."

Chatting to The Sun this morning, Sid continued: "She was nervous and that really rubbed off on me.

“I knew she wasn’t happy and wasn’t in the right frame of mind after what she’d been through.

“But you’ve just got to do what you’re given and try to make the most of your routine, which is what we did.”

Speaking after their exit, Ola added: "Poor Sid. I haven’t been training all week so I’m very worried about what our performance is going to be like. I just don’t want to go out this week because I’d feel really bad and guilty if that happened.

“It’s not Sid’s fault that I haven’t been here.”

Tune in to next week’s show on Saturday 3rd November at 6.30pm for Strictly Come Dancing with Strictly Come Dancing: The Results on Sunday 4th November at 7.20pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.
