Anton and Jerry were eliminated from the show on Sunday night, with only Bruno choosing to save her over Michael Vaughan in the bottom two.
“Jerry danced really well on Saturday night but the improvement she made wasn’t reflected in her marks from the judges," Anton said today. “Their comments were heavily weighted towards her posture — which does need work — and not the way she actually moved on the dance floor."
Speaking to The Sun this morning, Anton hit out at the panel: “The show is called Strictly Come Dancing, so you would have thought that side of things would have been considered — but apparently not.”
He continued: “I’m not saying Jerry went from beginner to fabulous in a week but there was an improvement and I had hoped the marks would improve.
"There were no gimmicks to our routine, I didn’t swing her in or drag her across the floor. We did a proper dance with depth and Jerry was quite capable."
And Anton, who scored 18 points with Jerry at the weekend from the judges, added: “I have no idea why people didn’t pick up the phone and vote for Jerry.
“But I think if the judges had given her another chance the viewers would have got to know her better and loved her. She’s an absolute legend.”
After finally coming to terms with her exit, Jerry said earlier this week she was relieved to be out.
She said: “I’m a woman of a certain age and did find the training exhausting, so I am relieved to put my feet up.”
Speaking about her Hollywood night performance on Saturday which scored 18 points from the judges, Jerry told The Sun this morning: “Craig’s comments were humiliating but sheep don’t associate with wolves – and for a dang good reason.
“The judges had a very high standard but I did my best and thought my dances looked great – and my body looks so good it has only done good things for me and my career.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns this weekend on Saturday 27th October at 6.30pm for Strictly’s spooktacular Halloween special with the results show on Sunday 28th October at 7.20pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.
