The third live Strictly show on Saturday night stayed constant with 9.9 million viewers tuning between 6:30PM and 8:25PM, the exact same figure as last week.
The show averaged an impressive 44.2% share, while it peaked at over 11 million viewers with a massive 11.3 million people watching at one point.
The X Factor meanwhile LOST viewers for a third week running, with an average audience of 8.6 million viewers for its Club Classics themed evening.
And that figure includes those who caught up an hour later on ITV1+1.
The X Factor peaked with 9.3 million viewers - 600,000 fewer people than watched Strictly on average - with a 9.6 million peak including those catching up on ITV1+1.
It's the biggest gap between the two shows since they both began airing against each other.
A BBC source told the Daily Mirror: “There has never been such a big gap between Strictly and The X Factor before now – it’s fantastic news for our show, and proves we’ve got the format spot on this year.
“It’s great news for Strictly, but must be very worrying for The X Factor. It has been the biggest show on TV for years but we’ve stolen that crown now.”
The X Factor 2012 continues this Saturday night with a spooky Halloween themed episode as the remaining ten contestants perform live once again.
The latest results show follows on Sunday when one more act will be given the boot.
