X Factor beats Strictly Come Dancing in results show ratings battle

The X factor was back on top in the Strictly Come Dancing ratings battle last night.

8 million watched last nights first Strictly Come Dancing results show, which saw Johnny Ball eliminated.

The X Factor meanwhile had 9.4 million for its second results show, which saw Melanie Masson leave.

On Saturday night, The X Factor lost out to Strictly by a million viewers, the biggest gap between the two shows for 2006.

The X Factor 2012 continues next Saturday and Sunday night on ITV1.

This weekend will see the remaining eleven finalists singing tracks with a Club Classics theme.

Strictly Come Dancing 2012 continues this weekend with the third live show. Johnny Ball became the first celeb to be eliminated last Sunday, and this Sunday will see another star get the axe!

Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly will be back to present a Hollywood-themed episode of the dance contest.
