The former Emmerdale actress topped the scoreboard last weekend and scored an impressive 25 points for her Viennese Waltz with professional partner Robin Vincent last night.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Lisa admitted she knew people were expecting her to be a joke act.
"I knew what everyone was thinking," she said. "They thought I'd be slow, that I'd have no rhythm and no musicality. They thought I'd probably walk the routine then do a bit of a shimmy at the end.
"You only had to look at the odds the bookies gave me when my name was announced."
Lisa's debut last week saw her odds fall from 80/1 to 14/1 with the bookies, and she's now one of the tips to make the final, thanks to both her dancing abilities and her big fanbase.
The actress insisted that she was adement with show bosses that she was going to be taking the show seriousy.
She said: "I made it clear I didn't want to be the joke act because I know full well that's what everyone thought – that I'm an Ann Widdecombe or a John Sergeant.
"I told them, 'If I do this I want to do it to the best of my ability.' I knew I could dance and that I had rhythm."
However despite the high marks, Lisa confessed to the newspaper she's not expecting to win.
She told the publication: "I don't think I'll win Strictly. Last week was my week as there were a lot of things in our favour, like the choice of dance. Last night's dance was a lot slower and there was no comedy. But whatever happens, I know I've done Mum proud."
