Kimberley Walsh says Strictly Come Dancing 'happier' than The X Factor

Kimberley Walsh (Strictly Come Dancing 2012)

Strictly Come Dancing star Kimberley Walsh has claimed that the BBC One series is a happier show compared to its reality telly rival The X Factor.

Girls Aloud star Kimberley has plenty of experience of both shows, having helped out Cheryl Cole on The X Factor and now taking part in Strictly's celebrity line up.

Comparing the two show's atmosphere's from behind the scenes, Kimberley told the Daily Mirror today: “The shows are quite different. A big part of it which I have experienced is they are both voting programmes with intensity.

“But the atmosphere, the pressure and the nervous energy you feel at X Factor is totally different to Strictly.

“Strictly is like a fantasy world of happiness. Happiness, glitter and fun."

Contemplating the first elimination on Strictly this Sunday, Kimberley continued: "It will be awful when one of us has to go but it is not the be-all and end-all. With the X Factor, that is how it felt.

“I much prefer the atmosphere in and around the studio on Strictly.

“I used to go down to The X Factor and, urghh, that nervous energy. It is really tense and scary. Here, it is so warm and friendly.”
