Johnny Ball made his first live performance on Saturday night, but Zoe confessed she has been watching the telly through her hands.
The former Radio DJ, who now hosts Strictly's BBC Two spin-off It Takes Two, previously appeared on the series herself, finishing in third place.
And Zoe wasn't sure if her dad could match that.
"He's had quite a hard time as his partner, Aliona, fractured her ankle and they had to get him another one, but he's coping very well," she said.
Speaking to Star magazine, Zoe continued: "It's hard to say whether he is a good dancer because I've been watching the TV through my fingers!
"I keep asking the producers how he's getting along in rehearsals but it's too early to say how far he'll go."
Strictly Come Dancing 2012 continues this Saturday night on BBC One, with all of the celebs performing their second dance. The first results show will follow on Sunday, with one celeb getting the boot!
