Speaking ahead of last night's live shows, Kristina told the Daily Star: "We are all very confident of beating X Factor, I think this year’s Strictly line-up is the strongest one ever.
"People need a bit of glitz and glamour in their lives at the moment because of the hard times and Strictly gives them that."
Despite the jibes from X Factor judge Louis Walsh, Kristina insisted that Strictly's " great entertainment, great names and great looks" would win viewers over.
She said: "I like X Factor and do watch it but Strictly gives people great entertainment, great names and looks beautiful."
And last night's ratings proved Kristina right, with 300,000 more viewers tuning in to Strictly Come Dancing then The X Factor.
Next weekend will see the two shows clash for the first time this year, with a five minute overlap between the two episodes.
The X Factor 2012 live shows continue tonight on ITV1 at 8PM with the first results show, featuring performances from Ne-Yo and Leona Lewis.
Strictly Come Dancing 2012 continues next Saturday night on BBC One, with all of the celebs performing their second dance. The first results show will follow on Sunday, with one celeb getting the boot!
