Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Victoria Pendleton doesn't feel pressure for live shows

Victoria Pendleton (Strictly Come Dancing)

Strictly Come Dancing 2012 contestant Victoria Pendleton has admitted she doesn't feel under pressure ahead of the live shows.

Strictly Come Dancing kicks off tomorrow night with its first live instalment, as the celebs perform for the judges for the first time.

Olympian Victoria has been loving her time in training already, telling The Sun: “It’s been so exciting so far and a surreal world of glitter, false lashes and hair extensions. I’ve been wearing Lycra my whole life so it did feel a bit odd to start with.

“I don’t feel under pressure to perform because this isn’t my arena. I spent my life doing something I was good at it and I was very lucky. But dancing is not my thing, so if I fall flat on my face I’ll be like, ‘Well, that’s life!’”

And despite being superfit before starting rehearsals with her pro dancing partner Brendan Cole, Victoria revealed: “I spent my whole life trying to get bigger, muscly thighs and now they’re just disappearing. It’s going to take a bit of time to get used to – they don’t look like my legs any more.”

Fortunately for the celebs, there will be no elimination this Sunday, however with their scores being carried over to the second week they’ll still want to go all out to impress the judges.
