Denise Van Outen will take time out of Strictly Come Dancing this week after the death of her grandad.
Denise missed training sessions over the weekend as BBC bosses told her to "to take as much time off as she needs", following the tragic death of Stephen Matthews, who was 89.
Speaking about her family, and her grandad in particular, earlier this month, Denise said: “I am always back in Basildon to see my family.
“It is a bit sad because my grandad is not very well in hospital, so we’re visiting all the time.”
But while Denise, who is partnered with Strictly pro James Jordan, has taken a few days off, the Sunday Mirror report that the West End star is set to jump right back into the thick of it tomorrow.
A source "close to Denise" told the newspaper today: “She was so close to her grandfather, and his death has hit her really hard.
"But she is determined to try to carry on in the show. She’ll be dancing for him when the programme begins.”
The first Strictly Come Dancing live show airs on BBC One on Friday.
