Strictly Come Dancing 2012 contestant Nicky Byrne has described the buzz around the show as "brilliant".
The Westlife star told the Irish Independent this week that he was keen for his bandmates to come down and enjoy the atmosphere, with the group having previously performed on the show three times before.
The 33-year-old has spent the past week in Ireland training with his pro dancer, US starlet Karen Hauer, who is a newbie to the professional line up this series.
There's two weeks to go now until the first live show, and Nicky said that he was expecting his Westlife pals to be in the audience when the first show kicks off.
"I have spoken to Shane (Filan) and he has his name down to come and watch us," Nicky said. "Kian (Egan) has texted me too.
"Their support is good to have, and if they come along, it will be a big positive for me."
But Nicky admitted that doing the show alone was a daunting task for him after 14 years in the group.
He told the newspaper: "I'm super-exposed because the boys are not around me. At the same time, it feels like I have joined a new family. I'm excited and that's a good sign."
He continued: "We performed on it three times as Westlife, and we were always curious about what it would be actually like to dance on it as a contestant.
"So it's always been in the back of my mind, really. Now here I am, and the buzz is brilliant."
