The blonde beauty, who is back fronting the show alongside Sir Bruce Forsyth this year, claimed the music mogul as a secret watcher of the series.
In an interview with the Daily Mirror today, Tess said: “Every time I see Simon, he asks me about it and he’s secretly a fan.
“He always asks me how it’s going and all about the line-up – he really enjoys it. Simon knows TV, he’s a clever bloke and he understandably thinks Strictly’s a great show.
“He’s the first to say when credit’s due.”
Meanwhile Tess insisted she wouldn't ever consider defecting from the show like Alesha Dixon.
Former Strictly judge Alesha quit the series earlier this year to join Simon's ITV1 series Britain's Got Talent, a move some claimed was made in order to 'hurt' the BBC One dancing show.
But in a swipe at Alesha, Tess said: "It’s genuinely never about the money for me."
She explained she had no plans to quit Strictly, adding: "To have money is a bonus in life and affords you luxuries. But Strictly is a job that I love and could never leave. It’s a part of my life.”
Strictly Come Dancing 2012 starts its live shows on October 5 and 6 on BBC One.
