Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Jerry Hall claims competition is "unfair"

Jerry Hall (Strictly Come Dancing)

Strictly Come Dancing star Jerry Hall has promised a "glamorous" and "sexy" dance for the first live shows.

The supermodel has been partnered with professional dancer Anton Du Beke, and despite press reports it sounds like the pair have been getting on fine!

The 56-year-old told Daybreak this week that she felt like the perfect age to wow in the Strictly ballroom.

Jerry said: “Ballroom is for women of a certain age and I’m the right age. Anton’s doing a glamorous sexy dance for me. We’re doing the cha-cha.

“There’s lots of bits where I am walking and posing. Hey, 40 years of modelling, I’ve got a head start on the walking and the posing.”

The former wife of Mick Jagger confessed however she was nervous about being one of the first out, claiming that it was "unfair" that some of the other contestants were Olympians!

“I didn’t know they were going to have all these Olympic athletes, it’s a bit unfair," she said. “Not all fillies ride well the first time out.

“I’m hoping people won’t expect too much in the beginning at least.

“It does make me happy actually, I am enjoying the endorphins."

She added: “I’m like that penguin on Happy Feet – you know, dancing for five hours, and I wake up in the morning and I’m really happy.”

The Strictly Come Dancing 2012 live shows start on October 5.
