Strictly Come Dancing's James Jordan has claimed that the show will be able to beat The X Factor in the ratings this year.
Saturday night saw the launch of this year's Strictly, but it didn't manage outshine The X Factor auditions with 8 million viewers to ITV1's 8.6 million.
However, it was the most watched launch ever and bodes very well for the live shows which kick off next month.
Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, pro dancer James suggested that Simon Cowell had tried to sabotage Strictly by pinching Alesha Dixon for Britain's Got Talent.
“I think we’ll keep beating them," said James. “X Factor hasn’t evolved as much as Strictly. And that’s why Simon took Alesha.
“He did it to try and mess things up for us."
But James was confident that Strictly would come out on top when both shows start their live finals in October.
He said: “X Factor is very samey. They change the judges to spice things up but it doesn’t work.
“It’s the same concept every year.”
