Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans has claimed that Denise Van Outen should be booted out of Strictly Come Dancing!
The One Show host, who had been linked to a spot in the line up himself, claimed that Denise's background have her an unfair advantage.
He said during his radio show this week: "Don't get me wrong I love Denise by the way and who wouldn't want to see Denise lighting up our screens on a Saturday night on BBC One's hit show Strictly?
"But she is a professional actress/singer/dancer.
"Isn't it a story of aspiration from the beginning, the seeds of learning whether you do or don't have two left feet, to perhaps better yourself and becoming good if not better than you ever thought you could be?"
Despite Chris' comments, which were echoed by many fans, Denise has insisted that she cannot dance that well at all, despite her experience in Broadway and the West End.
She explained this week: “I can move. I can do the basics. I’ve got the basic dance skills thanks to theatre school. But this is all really new to me, and I haven’t danced properly for about 15 years.
“I’d give myself maybe a four out of ten. I’m most nervous about the fact that people will think I can dance already because of my stage career, but I’ve actually never had a true dancing role.”
She added: “That’s what I worry about the most, people thinking I’m a dancer when I’m not.”
Meanwhile it seems that Chris' comments haven't gone down too well with BBC bosses ahead of the Strictly launch on Saturday night.
A source told The Sun newspaper today: "He's supposed to be a BBC man. What's his problem here?"
