Strictly Come Dancing contestant Nicky Byrne has said he hopes his Westlife bandmates will come down and support him on the show.
The Irish star will be seen showing off his moves when the new series kicks off this weekend, and confessed he was finding it strange performing alone.
Speaking at the red carpet launch this week, Nicky said he hoped to see his Westlife pals cheering him on from the sidelines.
He said: "I don't know but I hope so. It would be great if they could, although we've only broken up two months now so I don't even know where in the world everybody is. It would be good if they come down," he said at the show's launch.
Nicky said he has always been tempted of the thought of appearing on the dancefloor.
"It's something that I always thought in my head, 'maybe one day'. Now that I'm here, it feels strange, especially walking the carpet without the lads. It's weird but it's going to be a good challenge," he added.
The singer confessed he was on the show "for a laugh" and had already been making friends with the other celebrities.
"A few of the lads - Louis, Vaughan, Colin and Sid, we've all been hanging out together and having a good laugh. We've been swapping stories and all," he said.
However unfortunately for Nicky, Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has tipped him for an early exit!
Speaking at last night’s launch show, Craig took a swipe and Nicky and his bandmates for their bland dance routines.
“He may bring a little bit of beauty and charm but can he move those legs? Westlife were only famous for sitting on stools,” he quipped.
But Craig did praise the “fantastic” line up, revealing his favourite was Olympian Louis Smith, adding: “Gymnasts have fantastic rhythm.”
Strictly Come Dancing 2012 starts on BBC one this Saturday night at 6:30PM.
