Strictly Come Dancing 2012 will see the return of the dance off on Sunday nights, in a bid to make the show more exciting for viewers.
The new Strictly Come Dancing celebrity line up was revealed last night, with the likes of Kimberley Walsh and Denise Van Outen set to take to the dancefloor this autumn.
This year's show will see a new production team, who have reportedly asked the show's professional dancers to take the dancing more seriously.
“The new production team have decided to reinstate the Sunday night dance-off in a bid to inject more jeopardy," a source said today. “Viewers also said they missed it and it will bring added excitement to the show."
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, the source went on: “With Darcey Bussell replacing Alesha Dixon on the panel, all four judges will be looking at the technical aspects of the dances.
“Last year was all about showbiz and fun but things are going to be a bit more serious this year.
“The professional dancers have been told that.”
The new series of Strictly Come Dancing starts on Saturday night on BBC One with a premiere event.
The live shows will kick off three weeks later on October 5.
