When does Strictly Come Dancing 2012 start? And all the gossip from the new series!

Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing 2012 kicks off on BBC One on September 15, and here's all the latest gossip from the new series!

The show will launch in less than two weeks' time on next Saturday night, going head to head with The X Factor for its opening show.

There's been plenty of rumours about which celebrities will join the line up, with everyone from Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh to kids telly presenter Johnny Ball being linked to the show.

If even half of the rumoured celebrities actually make it to the dance floor it's sure to be one the best line ups yet.

Meanwhile the new series is also set to see some changes to help keep viewers hooked.

New judge Darcey Bussell will join the panel for the first time, replacing Alesha Dixon on the show after her defection to ITV1 and Britain's Got Talent.

Darcey has promised to be "critical" of the celebrities and we reckon she won't hold back with the comments!

The results show is also set to see a revamp, with the dance off being bought back. It will see the judges decide which of the bottom two placed celebrities will stay in the competition after the viewers have had their say.

But while the dance off is back, the show WON'T be going to Blackpool this year.

The iconic semi-final performance has been axed as a cost cutting measure for this series, with sources claiming that moving the show from its London base for the one weekend was a "logistical nightmare"
