Rav Wilding has been given a five-figure payout over his injury on Splash! 2014.
The former cop turned TV host was due to appear on this year's series but was ruled out after hurting his leg in training.
Although the initial injury to his leg was not in itself critical, it did require surgery and complications from that left Rav in hospital over New Years.
A blood clot left the 36-year-old "fighting for his life" over winter as he was dashed to hospital by ambulance.
“It’s been so hard. At one point the surgeon basically said I could die," Rav said.
"The insurers have since paid out," a pal told the Daily Mirror newspaper today. "Rav loved the show but he has lost so much work because of the injury he suffered. It’s been awful for him.”
It's widely expected that Splash won't be returning to ITV for a third series after poor ratings this year.
