Tom Daley's Splash! faces the axe from ITV after just two series.
This year's second run averaged 3.8 million viewers on Saturday nights, down over 1.5 million viewers from its first series average close to 5.5 million.
At once fewer than 3 million viewers were tuning with a gap of more than 2 million compared to last year's equivalent show.
Speaking to DigitalSpy this week, Tom admitted that the future for the diving show wasn't looking good.
Asked if would be back for a third series, he said: "I don't know. No decisions have been made. It's down to ITV, isn't it?"
However Splash! going away won't mean the end of telly for Tom with ITV reportedly keen to work on different projects with the Olympian.
“Splash! has been great fun and really captured the mood after the 2012 Olympics but ITV aren’t sure it will stand the test of time," a source said this month. “At the moment they’re looking at ideas to replace it as well as more ideas for Tom.”
A spokesperson for ITV said previously that "no decision has been made" over a third series.
