With The Voice UK and Splash gearing up for a head-to-head ratings battle, there's a bum war on the horizon.
The BBC One singing talent contest will be going up against an altogether different beast of a reality telly show in the form of Splash on Saturday nights from this weekend.
In The Voice's corner is Aussie popstar Kylie Minogue while ITV have... Vernon Kay in a pair of tight shorts.
But the confident telly host reckons he'd be in with a shot of winning a 'bum-off' against Kylie.
He said: "If I put the shorts back on the ratings will go sky-high. They'll go through the roof. I'll be in gold hot pants by the end.
"Kylie's on the other side. But forget that. Look at my backside instead."
Speaking ahead of Saturday night's latest live Splash! show, Vernon revealed that his wife (and fellow TV host) Tess Daly had been one of the biggest critics of the new series when it premiered last Spring.
"She is very honest," he told the Daily Star newspaper this week. "Last year after the first show she said: 'That was messy,' and she was right. She was at the show last week and told me: 'You looked good.' Trust me, if I didn't, she'd let me know!"
Competing in this Sautrday night’s second heat will be Boyzone’s Keith Duffy, TV Presenter Anna Williamson, singer and actress Toyah Willcox, TV and radio presenter Paul Ross and former rugby league and rugby union player Martin Offiah.
TV presenter Michaela Strachan and Diversity dancer Perri Kiely became the first celebs to make it through to the next round in last weekend’s show, while other stars expected to perform in future heats include comic Jenny Eclair and The Saturdays’ singer Una Foden.
