The final of ITV's Splash! proved a ratings hit last night, as the first ever Splash! winner was announced.
Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards triumphed over telly host Linda Barker and comic actor Jake Canuso in the last live show, after being mentored by Olympic star Tom Daley throughout the series.
An average audience of 5.6 million viewers, including those watching on ITV+1, watched the 90 minute show from 7PM yesterday evening.
The show peaked with its highest audience of the series with 6.6 million viewers watching as the result was announced.
And in a statement that says a lot about what TV makers are producing nowadays, Splash! was the most watched show of the whole of Saturday.
Overall, Splash! averaged 5.4 million viewers - including ITV+1 - across the three heats, semi-finals and final.
It means that the show is the highest rating first series in five years for a new ITV entertainment show.
