So You Think You Can Dance shifted to teatime slot as ratings continue to suffer

So You Think You Can Dance

BBC One reality dancing show So You Think You Can Dance will move to an earlier slot from next week after ratings for the live continue to suffer. Last weekend's third live instalment attracted a dismal 3.1 million viewers - beaten by ITV1's wacky show Sing If You Can.

The niche dancing talent search – hosted by Cat Deeley and with judges including Arlene Phillips and Nigel Lythgoe – will be screened at around 5.30pm, with the results being broadcast after Doctor Who.

A BBC source told The Mirror last night: “It is struggling to pull in three million which is a disaster for a Saturday night.”

Despite huge success in the states the format has failed to take off here in the UK and its expected the show will be axed once the current series is over.
