Britain's Got Talent continues to triumph as SYTYCD continues to flop

Britain's Got Talent 2011 continued to hold up well in the ratings last night, achieving an average of 9.5 million viewers for the second audition episode from 8PM on ITV1. Under the threat of axe, So You Think You Can Dance failed to impress on last week's poor showing, achieving just 3.6 million viewers.

Despite inheriting a 6.5 million audience from the new episode of Doctor Who, the Cat Deely fronted dance show actually fell week on week for its second live show.

Elsewhere and Sing If You Can dipped from last week's 5.4 million figure down to 3.4 million as the hot weather and bank holiday weekend impacted ratings across the board. New BBC One game show Don't Scare The Hare had 1.9 million from 17:25 while March of the Dinosaurs had 1.3 million.

It was another bad Saturday night for Channel 4, with only The Million Pound Drop managing to pass the 1 million viewers barrier during primetime.

Over on ITV2, Britain's Got More Talent achieved 1.1 million with host Stephen Mulhern.
