Popstar to Operastar contestant Claire Richards has revealed she turned down a deal for I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here this year, due to start in November. The former Steps star instead joined the singing competition - and the mum of two said she couldn't be happier!
The star has so far sailed through the first three weeks of the show and is currently one of the favourites to win the ITV1 primetime show.
Speaking about turning down I'm A Celebrity, Claire said: “I’m not into camping and eating bugs is not my idea of fun.”
The singer added she glad that Popstar to Operastar allowed her to show off her voice, saying: "For the first time in a long time I'm feeling that it's about my voice and nothing else, which was what I wanted.
"I just pray I get to keep singing in the show because I'm living my dream again and I never want it to end."
Meanwhile the late-90's star has agreed to make a TV show based on her battle with weight and eating problems, Slave to Food airs later this year on Sky Living.
