Bear Grylls has revealed that some of the celebs in Mission Survive rocked up thinking the would be faked.

The new series sees eight celebs take on a jungle trek that's been described as 'I'm A Celebrity on steroids'.

Actors, and cousins, Emilia Fox and Laurence Fox, singer and actor Max George, double Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes, TV presenter and singer Jamelia, comedy actor Tom Rosenthal, DJ, Model and presenter Vogue Williams and former England International rugby player Mike Tindall, make up the celebrity contestants.

Bear revealed: "Vogue and Jamelia turned up with vanity cases.

“I had crew buzzing in my ear going, ‘Bear, they are going to die!’"

He told The Sun newspaper today: “I kept telling everyone this is a million miles away from I’m a Celebrity. It is as far away as you can possibly get from that. It’s I’m a Celebrity on steroids.”

Bear added: “I had to keep reinforcing to them this was a genuine jungle endeavour journey. This won’t be ‘cut!’ and bring in the crew of 3,000 to do the catering...

“There is none of them being removed and taken elsewhere. We are used to seeing shows where people are manipulated but I don’t need to do that.”

The show starts TONIGHT at 9PM on ITV.
