The new celebrity reality show has been described as 'I'm A Celebrity on steroids' as eight stars take on an epic 12-day journey in South America.
Talking about the challenge, Jamelia said: "It was the most intense experience I have ever had. I feel that I walked out with so much - I felt empowered and stronger.
"It was everything that I expected it to be and more. I'm a huge fan of Bear Grylls. Whenever I used to watch his shows I used to think, 'Oh my god, look at that!'"
She added: "In that environment everything seemed like it was life or death. It felt like if I didn't do certain things I was going to die. I know that sounds so extreme but that's how it felt."
Speaking to OK! magazine about the new series - which starts later this month - Jamelia revealed that she clashed with Laurence Fox.
She explained how she suffered "meltdowns" at the start of the show and reckons many saw her as "the wimp of the group."
However, Jamelia added: "But internally I was having all these experiences and they strengthened me until I was back to being 'strong Jamelia' - but Laurence wasn't willing for me to establish that position and I think we ended up clashing quite a lot."
