Caroline Flack offers Love Island 2019 couples advice for their new relationships

Love Island 2019 presenter Caroline Flack has revealed her top tips for how contestants should handle their new relationships – even though her own love life isn’t going to plan.

Caroline has been involved in a string of high-profile couplings, most recently with Celebrity Big Brother’s Andrew Brady and rugby player Danny Cipriani.

And she’s the first person to acknowledge her matchmaking skills are rusty, even though she fronts TV’s biggest dating show.

“I can’t even matchmake myself!” she laughed. “No one should rely on me to matchmake them.

“I will just host the show and talk all about it!”

That said, Caroline has rather some wise advice to help the islanders navigate their own quests for love.

When it comes to being on the ITV2 show, she says hopefuls shouldn’t force themselves to couple up with just anyone.

“People are coming in and going out all the time,” she commented.

“Make friendships, because a lot of those friendship couples end up staying until the end and then someone come in for them.

“Love doesn’t happen easily, it happens over time. Don’t worry if you don’t fancy someone at the beginning, you might fancy them by week two.”

As for when they escape the TV bubble and return to the outside world, Caroline reckons pairs should take things slowly to avoid the Love Island curse.

“Don’t worry about being one step ahead of all of the other couples, ” she urged. “Don’t jump into moving in together too quickly.

“Once you’re out of the villa, start again, start dating, start taking it slowly.

“Don’t worry about where you are in your relationship, it doesn’t matter. There is no point rushing.”

This week bosses revealed the identities of the twelve contestants joining the new series when it launches next week.

They include a scientist, an aircraft engineer and the brothers of Strictly pro AJ Pritchard and boxer Tyson Fury.

Love Island 2019 officially kicks off on Monday night at 9.00pm on ITV2.
