Caroline Flack won't spill Love Island 2019 secrets to anyone - even her mum

Presenter reckons ITV2 contest is so popular because it's "relatable"

Caroline Flack says she's so good at keeping Love Island secrets that not even her mum can get her to spill the beans.

With 4million viewers tuning in last year, the ITV2 dating contest will likely be the most talked-about summer show again in 2019.

And given that she's right at the heart of the action, Caroline will be involved in many of those conversations.

However, if producers are worried she might dish out top-secret plans for upcoming twists, it seems they can breathe easy.

No matter how hard her mates try to get the gossip, the presenter insists she won't spoil the fun.

"All of my friends add me to Whatsapp groups, I’m in so many!" she revealed. "I have to remove myself from it because I’m like, 'I’m not going to tell you what’s happening'.

"I get in enough trouble keeping secrets to myself, don’t try and get it out of me!

"I’m really well behaved when it comes to talking about the show because it’ll ruin it. Even my mum asks me and I’m like, 'I can’t tell you Mum, sorry'!"

Caroline reckons the reason that fans can't stop discussing Love Island is that they can relate to the ups and downs of the contestants' relationships.

"The secret behind Love Island’s success is that it’s a really simple show about a really complicated subject," she claimed.

"No love situation is ever the same, no relationship is ever the same. We are all either in love, out of love, falling in love or falling out of it.

"It’s relatable and that is the thing that is never going to change."

ITV has today revealed the twelve islanders moving in to the Spanish villa at the start of the new series.

They include Curtis Pritchard, brother of Strictly star AJ, Tommy Fury, brother of heavyweight boxer Tyson, and Lucie Donlan, who previously dated 2018 contestant Charlie Frederick.

Love Island returns to ITV2 for its fifth run on Monday 3rd June at 9.00pm.
